On Thursday 13 October 2022, the GLF OUAGADOUGOU team took part in the Ouagadougou climate caravan, co-organised with Oxfam, JVE Burkina and many other civil society organisations and youth associations active in Burkina. The message of the young people, a joint declaration in favour of the climate, was presented to the authorities and the general population through the public animation.

"We demand justice for losses and damages"; "Justice for Africa"; "Respect the rights of African communities"! These are some of the slogans that could be read on the placards of the climatic demonstrators who walked along several streets of Ouagadougou. Several people living with a disability perched on their wheelchairs took an active part in this climate march in Ouagadougou.
"For us, no one should be left out of the fight against climate change. And this march is not only a framework for the mobilisation and commitment of young people, but also for the inclusion of people living with disabilities on this issue. We think that the message got through and this is the place to thank all those who took part. We just hope that our cries will be heard at COP27 in Egypt," said Olivier Tuina, spokesperson for the protesters.

This march for climate justice is part of a series of activities organised by civil society organisations in Burkina Faso to raise awareness, inform and advocate on the challenges of the fight against climate change and the stakes of the COP27 in Egypt.
Indeed, after having produced a declaration including all their concerns, the CSO representatives went to meet a number of leaders or personalities and initiated a caravan on 13 October through the streets of Ouagadougou. The caravan was also punctuated by the presentation of their declaration to public officials such as the permanent secretary of the National Council for Sustainable Development (CNDD).

"COP 27: what contributions can African communities make to achieving their climate commitments? This was the theme of the caravan, which brought together some fifty participants, all of whom were committed to the cause of climate justice for Africa.
