Members of the Restoration Network begin 2024 activities
The last february 8th, at the Private Institute for Climate Change Research (ICC) in Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, Escuintla, the first meeting of the Restoration Network of the South Coast of Guatemala for the year 2024 was held. In this activity, each sub-network presented the actions that are being carried out, with the objective of facilitating communication and coordination in order to execute the restoration activities more efficiently.
As part of the actions being carried out in the South Coast of Guatemala, the ICC together with the Defensores de la Naturaleza Foundation (FDN) presented a new project focused on the conservation of biodiversity in the south coast, which will be carried out for 5 years, with the objective of aligning efforts and strengthening some of the activities of the network.
Thanks to the presentation of actions and activities, the network members agreed on the planning and distribution of restoration and conservation activities to be carried out this year on the south coast.
Finally, a space for discussion was opened to find outreach topics to be published in the GLFx South Coast Guatemala chapter, a space where the network has to share experiences and actions at the international level.
Miembros de la Red de Restauración dan inicio a las actividades del 2024
La semana antepasada, en la sede central del Instituto Privado de Investigación sobre Cambio Climático (ICC) en Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, Escuintla, se celebró la primera reunión de la Red de Restauración de la Costa Sur de Guatemala del año 2024. En esta actividad, se dieron a conocer las acciones que se están llevado a cabo en cada una de las subredes, con el objetivo de facilitar la comunicación y coordinación y así ejecutar las actividades de restauración de manera más eficiente.
Como parte de las acciones que se están llevando a cabo en la Costa Sur de Guatemala, el ICC en conjunto con la Fundación Defensores de la Naturaleza (FDN) presentaron a los miembros un nuevo proyecto enfocado en la conservación de la biodiversidad en la costa sur, que tendrá una duración de 5 años, con el objetivo de alinear los esfuerzos y fortalecer algunas de las actividades de la red.
Gracias a la presentación de acciones y actividades, los miembros presentes de la red consensuaron la planificación y distribución de las actividades de restauración y conservación que se realizarán este año en la costa sur.
Para finalizar, se abrió un espacio de discusión para encontrar temas de divulgación que serán publicadas en el capítulo GLFx Costa Sur Guatemala, un espacio con el que cuenta la red para compartir experiencias y dar a conocer sus acciones a nivel internacional.
